High Dining

Posted in Food & Beverage on Saturday, July 28, 2007 by Colin Quek

Alright, it’s breakfast time onboard SQ181 towards Brunei. I had my breakfast before flying and was thinking to myself ok “I’m not going to eat until touch down”. Man was I wrong. When the food was served, the cabin air was to put it mildly – “tasty”.

It’s what the stewardess call chicken sausage. I’m not so much of a food nutritionist to calculate how much nutrients is packed in this tray of yummies, and I was so eager to sink my teeth into the food that I forgot to remove the covers off the desert before taking this shot.

The food was…yummy!

Coupled with white wine, the meal made my day. Of course not to forget the excellent service provided by the Singapore Airline’s flight crew.

Cosfest Finals

Posted in Blogroll, Events on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 by Colin Quek

Last sun marks the Finals of Cosfest. I was there on the 1st day to view the players and the colorful costumes. As expected from the seasoned players, I’m very well received upon asking them for poses and photographs. I do thank some of them for enduring with my “perfection problem” while they were baking under the hot sun.

Really like to take this opportunity to praise all the participants for doing such a wonderful job. Their study of the characters / costumes they are portraying must have been meticulous.

O School

Cosfest VI semi finals also pays tribute to a few local bodies. In the night we have several dance items, one of them from O School.

O School, a performing arts center, is a Social Enterprise set up by CHEC Ltd and supported by MCYS ComCare Enterprise Fund (www.se2.org). A Social Enterprise is a sustainable business with a social mission, where business is used to serve its social cause…
What is O? Original, yet Outstanding, going Out-of-the-box … We’re anything but ordinary.

Storming onto the stage with their fast and furious moves, they got the attention of the audience, including the guest of honor Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. The dancers were clinical in executing their moves.

Making me wish I don’t have my two left feet with me. Towards the end of the night, I managed to catch the dancers having a breather. Man they were still so active back stage even after 30 of hard R&B action.
